The Coleraine & District Kindergarten Inc. Committee of Management is responsible for all aspects of kindergarten management and works closely with the Educational Leader to ensure these responsibilities are met. The Southern Grampians Shire own the building and assist with some aspects of building and grounds maintenance.
However, families are responsible for our weekly maintenance with a fortnightly rotation. Each term a Working Bee is organised to take care of jobs that crop up. Thank you to Brad and Hayley, our Maintenance Officers, for organising the last Working Bee. The grounds were a little bedraggled and are now looking fantastic. There was a trailer load of green waste removed, waste matter removed from the gravel play pit, two large spiky self-seeded trees removed, the giant rotten stump removed from the back yard, hooks replaced on the sandpit cover, cubby house cleaned out and pickets mended, the mud kitchen and back verandah cleaned and tidied, lots of toys found in hedges to be sorted and put away, pruning, lots of weeding and most of the other jobs on the list ticked off by families. Thank you to everyone who attended the very productive day or took on a job for after hours to make our Kinder cleaner and safer.
In addition, two loads of leafy, dirty sand were removed and fresh sand put in-thank you to Vickery Brothers for donation of the replacement sand.
