Dear Parents,
Starting
school marks an important milestone. Recent studies suggest that children’s
adjustment to their first year at school is strongly influenced by their
familiarity with the school setting.
At
Coleraine Primary School we want to make the transition from kindergarten to
the school environment as smooth as possible for every child. The Coleraine
Primary School Transition Program will:
- assist children in making a successful adjustment to the school environment
- offer an opportunity to participate in classroom activities
- allow the children to practice skills necessary for school
- encourage new friendships and develop a support system
- provide information and support for parents
We
extend a warm welcome to all kindergarten children and their parents to
participate in the activities at Coleraine Primary School. We look forward
to meeting and getting to know 2017 prep students and their families.
We
invite all parents and pre-school children to come along to Coleraine Primary
School on Tuesday 31st May. There
will be a BBQ dinner from 6.00-7:30pm where parents can participate in a tour
of the school or in the morning at 9:15am for a tour and morning tea. If these times
are not convenient please don’t hesitate to contact the school and book in to
have a tour at another time.
