Coleraine and District Kindergarten requires every parent acknowledge and abide by the following Code of Conduct when they enrol their child with us. It is printed in the Handbook, a handy reference for your child's schooling. The full policy is available in the Policy manual, kept in the Parent Information Library.
Code of Conduct
The Kindergarten has a set of policies
which provide a framework for decision making and how things must be done.
Policies provide the Kindergarten with an ‘approved’ way of operating in
relation to all aspects of Kindergarten business. Policies reflect the values
and beliefs of the service, current thinking, community expectations and
national law and regulations. The Code of Conduct is one of the many policies
which Parents/Guardians need to be aware of. This summary aims to outline the
responsibilities of Parents/Guardians. In most situations good common sense
along with fair, ethical treatment which benefits the Kindergarten members and
service is what is required.
There are four values that underpin the
ethics and standards of conduct in the Kindergarten. The Coleraine and District
Kindergarten is committed to: Integrity,
Respect, Accountability, and
Community
We require that all people interacting with the Coleraine and District
Kindergarten:
- Treat everyone with courtesy, fairness and equity
- Engage in conduct that is respectful of differences and non-discriminatory
- Avoid behaviour that may be reasonably perceived as harassing, intimidating, overbearing, bullying or physically or emotionally threatening
- Refrain from acting in a way that would unfairly harm the reputation of the Kindergarten or members of the Kindergarten community
- Be responsive, courteous, collaborative and prompt in dealing with other members of the Kindergarten community
- Refrain from insulting the personal beliefs of other members
- Respect and ensure the privacy and confidentiality of all members of the Kindergarten
- Maintain and respect the confidentiality of Kindergarten students, families and business which may come to you from interactions with the Kindergarten whist attending the Kindergarten, engaging in Kinder Duty or associated Kindergarten activities
